This artwork is an intense study of the relationship between light and texture over a prolonged period of time. Observations were taken from nature inspiring images that create atmospheric and elusive light patterns - a surface in a state of constant shimmering multifaceted colours. The art within this piece is found in the intricate and multiple thin layers of paint that form a textured impasto surface using a small palette knife. A beautiful and detailed painting created over months with so much to discover within it.

I am a Brighton based contemporary artist, constantly inspired by the ever changing sea and the stunning South Downs. In 2022 I exhibited and sold work in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 22. I have also just been selected to exhibit at Londons prestigious Mall Gallery from Nov 17-26 ‘23. I spend hours making observational sketches and photos that results in an intense emotional study of light and texture. Prior to becoming a full time artist I had a long career in fashion and textile design. I ran a large London design studio producing garments for all of the major high street companies.
