This is a painting about a city scene where a young Black man fears for his life. The policemen are armed and firing at protestors. The side where the young Black man is has beautiful, bright graffitti with the text "Black Lives Matter" on it. That side of the building is hopeful and bright but the other side shows the darkness of the policing going on.

I have always been interested in art, since I was little. In college (CU Boulder, CO) I studied fine arts but got a degree in Math. I had a long career in software but kept doing art on the side. I was able to retire in April 2017 and devote most of my time to art. In addition, I have taught art to elementary students off and on over the years. My art career has consisted of entering many juried shows throughout the US. I have received several awards and honors for my paintings over the years. At heart, I am an anthropologist who loves to portray the beauty of diverse people and cultures. I love indigenous people and wild animals. I love to bring the contemporary out of the old souls I paint.
