It's you 2 Painting

My artwork can be referred to as deconstruction and combination of the previous shape or image: an exact challenge to the stereotyped and fixed conceptions. What is art? In which way should today's contemporary art be? From this kind of question, my work started and the deconstructive method I have delved deeply is my journey toward the answer. Art has maintained its life power through people's history, breathing its breath with people. Despite being within the materialized society, art must exist in human life. My artwork existing in artistic category is asking you what the conventionally conceptualized beauty is. Can it be said that the ostensible beauty in our belief is really beauty in itself? Here are some shattered and deconstructed shapes like body fragments recombined in bright and lovable colors. Are they beautiful? Can you say they are lovely? I also want to ask contemporary art what beauty is. This kind of question has led my artwork so far and will be with me into the future. Art for me is the question asked us thoroughly in life. I hope my art working will be this kind of endless questioning. (In the Korean language) 나의 작업은 기존의 형상, 또는 이미지의 해체 그리고 조합이다. 정형화되고 고정화된 기존 관념에 대한 정확한 도전이다. 예술은 무엇이며 오늘날 동시대의 예술은 어떻게 존재해야하는가 이런 물음에서 나의 작업을 출발하였으며, 나의 위에서 언급한 해체주의방식이 그 답을 향해 가는 여정이다. 예술은 삶(역사)속에서 사람과 함께 호흡하며, 그 생명력을 유지해왔다. 비록 물질화된 사회일지라도 예술은 사람의 삶속에 용해되어야한다. 이러한 예술의 범주 안에 존재하는 나의 작업은, 묻고 있다! 세상에 흔히 존재하는 관념 속에 아름다움이란 무엇인가? 우리가 믿고 있는 외형의 아름다움이 곧 아름다움인가? 여기...신체의 파편 같은..찢겨지고 분해된 형상(이미지, something)들이 우리가 믿는 밝고 사랑스런 컬러를 입고 다시 재조합되어 있다. 아름다운가? 사랑스럽다고 말할 수 있는가? 나는 또한 동시대의 예술에 묻고 싶다. 아름다움이란 무엇인지. 이런 류의 질문들이 지금껏 나의 작업들을 이끌어왔으며 미래에도 나와 함께 할 것이다.
