About The Artwork

I spent a lot of time around the area when I was working in Dun Laoghaire, we used to walk almost every day from offices to here and back. There is a James Joyce museum inside (I visited once and definitely will visit again). Ulysses starts at this location (my book progress is 1/3 done for now) I took the photo recently when I was passing here, and used it as a reference, but it is not 100 per cent factual. I changed some rocks, also I removed anything hinting at the modern era (cars, a wire pole...) The size of the paper is 24cm x 32cm. The size of the painted area is 20 x 28 cm. Paper type: Hahnemühle 125lb/265gs thick watercolour paper

As a freelance artist, I specialize in traditional (watercolours, inks, pens, oils) and digital painting. Although I work full-time as a software engineer, creating art is my passion and I enjoy it in my free time. My artistic style is mostly inspired by fantasy masters like Brian Froud, Alan Lee, H.R. Giger, Studio Ghibli, J.R.R. Tolkien and Hieronymus Bosch. The book "Faeries" by Brian Froud and Alan Lee played a pivotal role in my decision to pursue art, as it introduced me to old Celtic myths. I am grateful to live in Kilcoole, which is rooted in the same mythological tradition and have done so for over eight years. My artistic work often reflects darker themes as a reflection of my philosophical ponderings. I am open to custom ideas, whether it be fantasy art, classical portraits, landscapes, illustration (in the past, I have illustrated many books, mostly aimed at teenagers) or a combination of them. As a member of both VAI (Visual Artist Ireland) and AOI (Association of Illustrators), I am committed to pursuing my passion for art. If you like my style, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. My formal education included the School of Applied Arts, Zagreb, and the Faculty of Fine Arts, Belgrade; In both cases, I completed the Painting course.
