About The Artwork

In your city, sounds mix into a harmonious symphony, creating a continuous stream of auditory impressions. This is the music of the city that envelops everyone who enters it. The sounds of the surf, undulating and rhythmic, create a rhythm that permeates the entire atmosphere of the city. The noise of dozens of voices of beachgoers mixes with the roll calls of seagulls, creating a kind of sonnet of the sea. The melody of trade wafts through the narrow streets of the city. Here, various sounds of questions and proposals, the clapping of money and the clinking of coins, create the rhythm of life of the townspeople. Like an orchestra, the city noise is tuned into harmony, putting each sound in its place. The sounds of fountains add their own music to this symphonic ensemble. Vibrating jets of water playing in time with the music create an amazing spectacle. Mixed with the admiring exclamations of the spectators, these sounds give the urban space an emotional tone. But there are other, quieter notes in this symphony. The rustle of palm leaves, the careful steps of passers-by, the whisper of lovers, all this fits into the general harmony of the sounds of Batumi. These quiet chords create space for reflection and inspire calm.

I was born and raised in Yekaterinburg, Russia. I was educated as a social teacher at the Sverdlovsk Regional Pedagogical College. For 10 years I worked in an advertising agency organizing festive and promotional events, then I radically changed my field of activity and for the next 9 years I became a subject and interior photographer. Since childhood, I have been drawing with pencil and pastel, taking anatomical drawing courses, but I realized that it is important for me to create not the correct lines, but to put my feelings, thoughts and sensations on the canvas as I see it. At the age of 34, I moved to live in Sri Lanka for several years and there I first painted my first 3 oil paintings, which are now on display in a local restaurant in Weligama. In subsequent years, I lived in Europe and painted a few more paintings there, which now live in Poland and Germany. Now I live in Turkey and my paintings travel with me. In my works, I talk about what the syndrome of Depersonalization and Derealization is, because most people in this world experience these specific sensations at least once in their lives. I'm talking about the fact that at the moment of stress, the subconscious of any of us can isolate itself from the outside world, we can perceive our body as if from the outside, we can perceive the world around us as a movie or scenery. It's normal, it's not scary. I perceive this quality of mine as a superpower and I am happy that I have learned to live with it and regenerate these sensations into art.
