There is a drawing I made years ago that inspired this painting. I chose it to be painted cause I was starting with yoga and the contorsions and the relation to orgasms and something erotic was contained in that drawing. the act of writing or paiting in direct relation to the body. It is supposedly be about someone's fantasies with big furry or feathery being. it does not matter now. I am very dissapointed at myself for beleiving I could make it into an erotic painting show. It was not selected. so this painting is not considered good, or erotic or neither, enough. but I love it. It is Juana Inés de la Cruz, getting all naked and sensual while writing.

I am interested in experimenting with sincretic images that capture the whole range of religious experiences. I am inspired by the architecture and mural paintings of the Aztecs, Mayan, Zapotecan and other peoples from America and I like to intersect them with the aesthetics brought to America by the Spanish, like virgins, saints and holy beings. I intersect them with a third paradigm which is my personal journey into Indian philosophies and the idea of enlightenment. The result shows where I am now, believing that art is the way, and being an artist is my religion.
