About The Artwork
My work is a response to, and an exploration of, the transient and ephemeral nature of our constructed environment and the material that we attract and discard. My fascinations are archaeology, advertising and the built environment, to name a few. The paintings shamelessly cross the boundaries between abstract and figurative, painting and collage, mechanical reproduction and the human mark, producing a fascinating and thought provoking commentary on the effects of time, decay and human whim on our urban environment. This painting is an attempt to break new ground and forge new visual dialogues.

Fascinated by history, place, architecture and archaeology. He worked for the BBC, and in the satellite TV industry, as well as spells as freelance graphic designer, archaeologist and cheese maker. Began painting at the age of 14, influenced by advertising, pop art, the photographic record, science fiction literature, and the rock band Hawkwind. He was self taught, until a part time art course in 2000. Very ecclectic and wide ranging inspirations and practice.
