“The longer you look at an object, the more abstract it becomes, and, ironically, the more real.” Lucian Freud. I don’t live in London, Hong Kong, New York, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Tokyo Sydney or Singapore, but I’ve sent my work there. In fact I’ve now sent my work to 46 countries, not bad for a girl from the rice fields of Thailand. I love painting people, but I don’t want to just paint portraits, I want my people to have a bit of character, a little of the night about them I want them to be special, I also want an art deco sort of surrealism feel to it, for you to see something different every time you look at it, I wanted it to hold your imagination. I love it that I can be bold and experiment with the colours the form the mannerism and be free of all inhibitions, I want them to look comfortable with lots of pleasing curves, ageless, of indeterminate origin or nationality, but above all at ease with themselves. COMMISSIONS: I would be delighted to create you a unique work, whatever size you need or colour palette. Thailand
Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
