Eleonor Roosevelt once said that women are like tea bags. We do not know the strength until we put them in hot water. This painting is my way of representing this famous quote. This painting was juried by ArtHouse New York in 2020, and won to be displayed at the Big Screen Plaza New York on 12 December 2020. Hopefully, the viewers will recall all the women they know that they have an incredible however disguise strength. This is part of the Series La donna (The woman) where each female torso gets paired with an adjective or a characteristic.

Using oil or acrylic on canvas, paper or wood, I paint landscapes, cityscapes, and surreal-impressionist representations of women. Brightly colored and uplifting, my paintings tell stories that touch the relationship of sentient beings with nature, and the tribulations of women throughout history. Some of these landscapes and cities will disappear due to climate change. I want to leave a legacy of what they used to look like.
