About The Artwork
"La luz recordada" is an oil on panel. We can see three children running, happy and abstracted. Due to their clothes and the light sensation, the scene can remind us a summer afternoon. In addition, we can see in the background some shapes and colors that refer to umbrellas. The scene invites us to remember lived summers, or to look at our present with different eyes. We can recognize ourselves in those children who run happily. We can feel their energy and joy, we can, for a little moment, be children again. "La luz recordada" es un óleo sobre tabla. En ella vemos unos niños que corren, alegres y abstraídos. Por sus ropas y la sensación lumínica, la escena nos puede recordar una tarde estival. Pilar López Báez was born in Madrid in September 1981. She studied Art History and Fine Arts, graduating in both degrees by the Complutense University in Madrid and the Felipe II University in Aranjuez, respectively. She completed her education with a course of graphic design at the Cice Advanced Studies Center in Madrid. She has received several grands in Spanish geography and has been invited to participate in other European scholarships. She has participated in galleries all around Spain and abroad, she made several solo exhibitions in galleries such as Espacio 36 in Zamora, or Octógono in Avilés, both in Spain. She has been invited to exhibit in institutional halls and art academies. Her artistic work has been awarded several times in Spanish competitions, such as “Camarote Madrid” in Leon. She has been finalist in many national e international competitions. Her work can be found in private collections in Spain, Italy and United States. Currently, she lives and works in Aranjuez, combining her work as a painter with her work as a child illustrator.
