About The Artwork
Is digital painting a real painting or just a simulation/representation of it? Starting with the Magritte's painting "La trahison des immages" (otherwise known as "Cesi n'est pas une pipe"), through which the artist emphasises that representations are not real things, but merely an imitation of them, and that they therefore stand on two distinct, often confused, ontological planes, I have tried to express my thoughts on the relationship between digital and traditional painting Image created in acrylics on wood and then painted with a gloss fixative to preserve the lustre of the colours.
