Landscape 013 - Bean Field Painting

I have seen this field in all seasons, at all times of day and night. Long ago, it grew rice. Today it grows soy beans. At the end of the field and out of sight, there is another highway and then the Arkansas River, close to a site found in the Guiness Book of World Records for having the three major modes of travel and commerce, road, river and rail, all closer to each other than anywhere else in the United States or the World or something like that. In this landscape, the invisible is just as important as the visible. You are struck by the sunset and the color dancing over the field rows, yet, the painting constantly suggests something more, continuing outside the frame. A repeating pattern of centipede sections represent this element of the visible and the invisible.
