Last Rays of Sunshine Painting

My love of animals is endless and so is my desire to portray them in my art. Ever since I was a child I have drawn and painted horses and portraying horses in movement is something I've striven to perfect throughout career as an artist. This beautiful chestnut horse looks back as if to enjoy the sun set as the last rays of sun, light up his deep chestnut coat. This painting was inspired by some photos I took a while back when I lived next door to a liver. I also painted this horses at the same time as the fighting stallions, this horse is the chestnut stallion in that painting. Oil on canvas is a great medium to use when I want to produce realistic work and I an very please with this painting. I hope as I Do, you feel the warmth of the suns rays on this beautiful horse as I'm sure he did. Enjoy
