ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My spontaneous process of painting allows freedom of form and allowing unknown or subconscious subjects to come to life. The juxtaposition of geometrical forms with this process creates a dichotomy and challenge that expands my vision instead of limiting it. Using Islamic patterns in a disorderly fashion also connects me with my root and native culture.

Abol Bahadori

Abol Bahadori is a prizewinning mixed-media artist based in the United States. He was born in Tabriz, the capital of Iranian Azerbaijan. As a child, he was inspired by the colorful carpets in his home. He won the "Best Young Artist" prize in the local schools at age nine. He studied art in his hometown and later in Manchester, England. Bahadori has been frequently selected by the Washington Project for Arts and The Art League, Alexandria, VA, for annual art auctions and solo shows with many best-in-show awards. He has actively shown his work in various prominent galleries in the U.S., U.K. and France.
