Le Bois (The Wood) Painting

This canvas is a vision of the edge of an idealized forest. In front of lines of trees, we can imagine from the bottom to the top different visible strata: soil covered by grass, trunks, the shadow of the foliage, leaves of the trees and the sky. The geometrical way of painting which is characteristic of JFL’s work gives movement to the entire wood. This canvas can be part of a triptychs with 2 other paints : ‘Under An Old Oak Tree’ and ‘The Trunks’.
