About The Artwork
Shang Dynasty people worship animals in China. They believe that turtles have "spirituality" and use turtles as a tool to communicate with Heaven. These words are engraved on the oracle bones, "help people understand the prophecy of the Heaven", that is, to understand who is good and evil. Turtles are also a symbol of longevity. Asians who are longevity are called "life like turtles."
