About The Artwork
This head study in harsh sunlight seeks to reflect the high contrast of life, or, at least, of lives worth living: those that have the highest highs and the lowest lows - the only ones that are worth the strength of living. The patches of sunlight on the gentleman´s face are the sparse moments of delight and euphoria that overcome the times of deep shadows. The cast shadow of the head is a little reminder of how our experiences are projected unto others, just as theirs our projected unto us.
