Lines 02 Painting

This series Lines are recent works, all of 2018. I discovered a technique where the oil paint and pencil intertwine and in the oxidation process of the oil fuse. During the process of drawing with the pencil on the ink I notice the relation of harmony between the two elements. The ink is a subtle substance, which spreads, has a feminine aspect. The pencil, it hurts, scratches, penetrates being its masculine opposite. Together the two elements, when merging create a third, the union of the two. All my life, over 40 years of art, I have been working for the harmony between the feminine and the masculine, between an essence and a substance. I believe that these works of this series are the ones that most express this marriage. Jaime Prades
