Trinh Quoc Chien was born in 1966 in Hai Phong. He graduated from Hanoi University of Fine Arts in 1993. The artist participated in many important exhibitions in San Francisco, New York, Miami (USA), Bejing, Hong Kong (China), Thailand, and some other places in Vietnam. He was awarded the Asian Art Prize in 1996 by Philip Morris Group, Freeman Prize given to outstanding Asian artists during 1998 – 1999 period at Vernon Composition Camp (the United State). His works are kept in many museums and included in collections in Japan, Canada, Australia and the United State.
