About The Artwork
This oil pastel painting/drawing was inspired by my own reflection, when seeing it in the darkened glossy and smudged screen of my Apple MacBook Pro. I had to capture the depth and feeling of the scene. Originally the artwork started out with facial expressions of anger, but as I worked further on the art, both my emotions and the figure's expressions went to sadness and finally calm. The beard also strangely free as progress continued as well. More information is coming soon.

Contemporary impressionism artist with watercolor, oil pastel, and oil paint paintings. I have only been painting for a few months. I was told repeatedly I was extremely talented at art as a child, but quit art at the age of 14 entirely, picking it back up 18 years later recently. Not even a single sketch my entire adult life. My skills are a little rusty, but I am enjoying the journey again. This time without it overwhelmingly forced on me.
