About The Artwork
I live in Bristol, UK and last year (2017) it was voted the most popular place to live in the UK. As a result, the Bristolian sense of humour came to the fore and these red posters started appearing all over Bristol. This also appealed to me and I decided to incorporate it into this painting. The woman is part of my subtitled paintings called The Bristol Rover, named after one of Bristol's two famous football teams. The shoes came courtesy of a Twitter follower of mine who allowed me to use a photograph of them - I loved the colour.

I am a narrative figurative artist, using street art as a background to my art. I obtain the street artist's permission before I incorporate their work into my composition and tag them in to my Instagram feeds to give them added exposure. I place a woman in the foreground performing an action which changes the dynamic of the 2d street art, bringing art to life and vice versa. I paint in oils. The viewer can make up his or her own mind as to what is happening in the painting. I get some interesting feedback as a result.
