About The Artwork
When preparing for this piece, I was inspired by Norman Rockwell's meta painting of a man standing in front of a Jackson Pollock painting and also the matte chromatic black techniques Ad Reinhardt applied to his oil paints. Giving the depth of the black an almost seamless look under certain light though not being totally without contrast.
