Luiz Henrique da Rocha Azevedo was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1955. He developed a taste for drawing early on. In 1975, he developed an appreciation for oil painting and began working with figurative painting. Much later, he returned to painting, learning and maturing his technique. At this time, his focus was on the Flemish school and its notorious painters, as well as his acquaintance with impressionist painting. He seeks technical expertise and thematic identification, which at the same time gives his works a particular and plural meaning. It's not an easy task but, in the process, he retreats to a state that seems better to him: concerned with lines, shadows, the harmony of colors, he feels at home, his old home. Over the years, he has taken part in art exhibitions and had a solo show in 2006. He continues to develop his art, which is becoming increasingly personal.
