About The Artwork

May Faith Be By Your Side – Pink Camellia By HSIN LIN 11/04/2021 Artist Acrylic on triple primed gesso canvas, painted with palette knife and brushes. Signed at front and ready to hang. 51 x 41 x 1.5 cm Sides painted black. Affirmation – Do not fear the path ahead of us. I have this beautiful camellia tree at my front yard which bloom gloriously every year. It is also the first sight that greet me in the cold morning during winter. These blossoms in striking Red / magenta is quite a delightful sight to enjoy even in a cloudy day. It has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom during the flowering season. This is my 4th depict and the former ones had found new home soon when they were off my easel. Now you are looking at my latest interpretation of my favourite camellia tree. Camellia is evergreen, meaning that the leaves stay on the plant all year round. Generally, camellia flowers symbolize love, affection, and admiration. Pink camellias symbolize a longing for someone and is given to someone who is missed. I present you these gorgeous camellias, bloom gloriously just for you, in every day, every season. -WILD BOTANICAL ABSTRACT SERIES By HSIN LIN- Flower always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. Artwork inspired by nature in Bayswater, Melbourne, Winter, 2021. -HSIN LIN

HSIN LIN, Award-winning Artist based in Melbourne, Australia. In Hsin Lin’s ongoing, signature contemporary floral series that feature native and common flowers we know, flowers represent life and each different type of flower has a unique symbolic meaning. Lin is inspired by her close observation of the natural world. Through a process of careful looking Lin is able to capture an incredible amount of intricate detail. To create the larger-scale work, Lin normally spends 6-12 months developing the intricate composition. The fine details such as the tiny petals have been developed through ten or more layers of paint. Lin describes that ‘although still-life is considered a traditional genre, each object in the paintings stands for a different meaning and has its own story. Flowers represent us as humans, vases represent the body carrying our soul, protecting us like a shield. The weaving basket stands for connections—the bonds between families, friends and all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole and we are stronger together.’ Lin’s paintings, a series of flowers in full bloom, remind us that we are alive and that life is vibrant, blossoming and full of potential.
