About The Artwork

Details of our memories fade, but the colors and feelings remain, little more than flashes in our consciousness. I hope that my work inspires its own stories and feelings that go far beyond my own feelings that inspired the painting. My goal is to capture the play of light against the beauty of the female form. The paint used in this work is flat, and picks up the light surrounding it, showing more of the blues in it, instead of shining, or reflecting light. Canvas is ready to hang, with wire stretched across the back of the canvas for professional hanging. Signed certificate of authenticity is included with every painting.

I am a contemporary mixed media artist. I use my designs as a way to express my life experiences, as I have seen them, and as I see the world. I attempt to accentuate the beauty in the dark and the forgotten things, and conceptually manipulate what it is to be lovely, and what it is to be worthy. To see and make tangible the beauty in the broken. I believe that art is an equalizer. We can all feel something that is being conveyed and no words are necessary. I work in any mediums that interest me and that fit the current mood. I gravitate towards paint and charcoal, I love the mess on my hands that always appears when I am working. I used to frequently paint living canvas, I found it incredibly gratifying to make a statement on what was already a beautiful canvas. Through personal illness, my work has transferred to canvas, as I cannot any longer work the grueling shifts required for body painting. In the end I hope that my work inspires emotion. Whether it is the emotion I had at the time of creation is irrelevant. I think that each person will take away their own meaning, and that is a beautiful thing in itself.
