About The Artwork

The contemporary artist behind the works titled "Miami Lover one and two" drew inspiration from the intense and iconic cinematic world of "Scarface." By choosing to depict the meeting scene between Tony Montana and Elvira, the artist deliberately opted for a moment of sweetness and tenderness within a film notoriously marked by its brutal violence. The romantic face-to-face between these two iconic characters captured the artist's imagination, prompting an exploration of the striking contrast between the intensity of the budding relationship and the inherent brutality throughout the film. Through a palette of vibrant colors and skillful artistic technique, the artist managed to encapsulate the very essence of this particular scene. The paintings "Miami Lover one and two" result from thoughtful reflection on the duality present in "Scarface." By highlighting the film's most tender moment, the artist aims to challenge conventional perceptions of this iconic cinematic work. By emphasizing the burgeoning love between Tony and Elvira, the artist invites the viewer to contemplate the complex nuances of the story and consider the fragility of human relationships within the violent extravagance that characterizes "Scarface." "Miami Lover one and two" go beyond being a mere visual representation of the scene. They embody a personal interpretation by the artist, an emotional and aesthetic exploration that transcends the raw violence of the film to reveal a deeper, more human and vulnerable aspect of its characters. These captivating works invite the audience to revisit "Scarface" from a different perspective, offering a new take on a cinema classic while celebrating love amid the chaos.

BIOGRAPHY Yannick Fournié was born in 1972 in the South of France. After enrolling at the École des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux, he eventually decided to join the french army. His quest for identity, and the lack of a military father absent from his life, compelled him to enrol in the parachute regiment. He stayed there for three years. This experience, although emotionally very powerful, only partially fulfilled his expectations. Taken with freedom and in search of new experiences, he pursued a career in sport. In 2011, he eventually gave in to the nagging and unappeased need to paint. Twenty years of an intensely lived life were required to wean him off his quest for meaning. Alone in front of the canvas in his studio, Yannick Fournié has uncompromisingly painted subjects that appeal to him, worlds into which he injects strength and inwardness. Yannick Fournié, a French artist born in 1972, is a painter whose talent transcends the boundaries of contemporary figuration. Splitting his time between Biarritz and Lisbon, these two places of residence seem to be an endless source of inspiration for his work. His painting, imbued with poetry, serves as a contemplative testimony to the world around him. Yannick Fournié's canvases are a skillful blend of enigmatic portraits and scenes captured like stolen moments of profound intimacy. Each brushstroke seems to tell a story, inviting the viewer to delve into the delicate and nuanced universe of the artist.
