Micro-macrocosm Painting

This began as calligraphic brushwork which began to suggest a seashore. This suggested other planets or moons, and the variety of solar systems that must exist elsewhere. The details remained mostly earthlike, but the proximity of the large gaseous planet would make this shoreline impossible. I often spend time beachcombing, searching for sharks teeth, which requires careful attention to the area of sand immediately in front of you. Often, during these sessions, I would look up and realize what a huge sky was around, that I neglect for the search for things that are small. I put my beachcomber self on these alien dunes to remind myself again how grand is the universe which we will never see, but can imagine.
