I am graphic designer for work and seek to push against the rules of this in my art. Primarily influenced by the freedom of music, the idea of genre, freestlying, jamming and inspiration. Artists such as Picasso, De Kooning, Cecily Brown, Max Beckmann and Condo, inspire me to 'jam out' works. Inspired by the greats, but within my own identifiable interpretation of the how it should go together. Allowing viewers to embark on a personal journey of interpretation, blending abstraction, surrealism, and expressionism, I seek to evoke emotion and invite exploration. Each canvas is a portal to discover individual stories, thoughts or dreams, while embracing experimentation and the complexities of the human condition eg social media. I celebrate individuality in an art world dominated by graphic design rules and art status quo.
