About The Artwork

Translucent water and patterns on the surface of water were the inspiration for the soft turquoise background of this acrylic and ink painting on a circular canvas of 80cm diameter. Repetitive and spiralling circles emanate a contemplative state and create a focus for calm. The hand drawn bronze overlay is inspired by the magnified cross section of a tree cell.....a beautiful flowing unification of land and water. When viewed from different angles, the incredibly detailed pattern created by the bronze lines shimmers in the light to varying intensity, giving this work a sense of flowing movement and vibrancy.
