Moms Painting

I grew up in small town in northern Indiana, USA. Goshen is a great place to grow up – all the things you might imagine from a Midwestern town: Hot summers, cold winters, mostly friendly, industrious people everywhere. I’ve been interested in drawing and painting all my life, taking all the classes available to me in public school, and participating in local county fairs. I received an Associates Degree in Commercial Art from Ivy Tech in South Bend in 1986. I chose to focus on a career in graphic design and have worked at commercial print shops since my early twenties. I have painted on and off for many years, but about 10 years ago I had a health scare that made me want to pursue painting more seriously. I look for subjects that capture my attention or provoke a response. Maybe someone overlooked or misunderstood in history. I look for mysteries and actions that inspire, or sometimes just something that makes me happy. I’ve always loved animals, and birds in particular have been a focus of my work. If I’m able to make a few other people happy with my work, it will be time well spent.
