About The Artwork
This old oak tree survived the Basin Complex Fire in Big Sur, California; the calligraphy branches are the burned branches from five or six years ago. You will see the lovely new growth of the tree above. There are other burned trees in the lower right. We are looking at the Pacific Ocean and the moon. i painted this on location in 2012 and added my own artistic impressions. Think of the life below the surface of the ocean!
