Morning Light at Spirits Bay Painting

New Zealand landscape painting of Spirits Bay, a beautiful beach just 20km from Cape Reinga. This small beach painting would serve as a reminder of being at the beach as the sun rises. It is a wonderful place to wake up after a night of camping or to take an early morning walk. I took my cup of tea up to the top of the sand dunes as the morning light hit the top of the hills and Pananehe Island, the view depicted in this painting. Original oil painting on hand prepared gessoed hardboard panel. This was painted using Gamblin professional oil paints band the back of the board is coated in acrylic paint to protect it. Although this painting is sold unframed I have included photos of it in a frame for illustration purposes only. 6” x 8” is a standard size so finding a frame that you like should be relatively easy.
