About The Artwork
The artwork was created during a month-long residency in Newfoundland and Labrador. For months before the residency I was hypnotized by the triangle in Goya's Adoration of the Name of God painting. When I arrived at Pouch Cove (the town where the residence was located) I was shocked by the number of triangles carved into the rocks and the turmeric gold color so used in many of my paintings. I consider this painting as a result of immersion not only in the painting and the environment but in the triangle object/concept, which I continue to investigate.
