About The Artwork
My practice involves addressing historical periods of importance that are represented by psychologically and socially charged images and objects. The ancient Mesopotamian vessel represented here was created in ancient times and represent mans ingenious ability to design objects and tools necessary for survival. This vessel acted as container for food and water. Yet at the same time the shape retains that of modern technological advancements in warfare, as the form is similar to that of a bomb. The title is an allusion to the peak of destructive force created during WWII and works to create a duel representation of both creative survival and destructive survival.
