About The Artwork

The Generational Tapestry series. Each panel from the series represents a unique aspect of the feminine experiences of the women who came before us. The foundation of each panel is a mixed media assemblage of historical handcrafts and heirlooms. A surface is raised above the collage to support the figure of a young woman. She is literally built on the legacy of the women who came before her. The impact of what we teach our children and the pervasive unconscious bias that taints.
