This is an assemblage painting full of objects from the streets of nyc. Living in the age of mechanical reproduction with so many object everywhere, there are many that get tossed to the street. This peice is minspired by making the discarded object have a second life. Metal, plastic and wood are all screwed onto this stretched canvas. Nostalgia and the temperance of being are ongiing themes and the seperate discarded parts come to gether to create a new meaning. All the ghosts are comingling. Motherbird (the ostrich headed figure) is about the renewal and the decey and the natural cycles of life in the modern urban landscape we live in. If you look hard you see more secrets in the layers
