Murdered by Society (Golden Girl Vol. 1) Painting

It was a long time that I have in a corner of the house two golden frames that I really love them. They were just gathering dust. I wanted for years (as usual) to paint something to frame it with them. I have been trying differents composition and ideas until I choose one of them. I wanted this time to make the frames really shine. In order to create a big contrast I used a pure black background that surrounds the subject of the painting, which is a portrait as usual in all compositions of the collection. I wanted to do a contemporary aesthetic portrait but I also wanted to create a relation between the subject of the artwork and the frame. So I paint the face with very neutral colours and I choose gold metallic paint to add some touches to generate this connection. Wifey and me have been traveling a lot this year. It was the first time in a lot of things for her. It was a big learning period for her. She realize about many differents things. So this collection was an homenaje for her where the first painting represent how her older version was killed by capitalist society and the second painting represents how she rise up from the ashes like a phoenix. On “Side A” golden marks that kills her is coming from outside (money as golden value which characterizes the capitalist society) versus “Side B” where the golden marks comes from inside (the subject has already started to understand that golden value is inside herself). So we’re not worthly or successful in life depending how big is the quantity of money that we keep in our savings account. We’re successful when we live connected to ourselves in order to really enjoy the happiness being conscious
