About The Artwork
very large acrylic on gallery wrap canvas My Barcelona. I live in Brighton by the seaside. I was in my studio with my big white canvas on my easel but no inspiration. It was a very cloudy and rainy day and I could see the ocean and imagined my beautiful city sunny and colourful. I started painting with oranges, yellows and whites- very bright!! And then to my mind came all the places that I love and I started painting. The city, the Sagrada Familia, Miro's eye, and started adding bits of the artists I greatly admire, Carles Buigas's Magical Coloured fountains in Montjuic on the top right, Gaudi and the parque Guell, Gaudi's home Casa Mila, la Pedrera on the left hand side. The middle top is Dali's home and museum, with the trees and eggs, further down I have one of Dali's eyes and half a moustache hanging from a bit of the Catalan flag, then bits here and there, from Tapies, Gaudi's circles. I could go on but it will take me longer. This is an abstract expression of that cloudy day that made me think of sunny Barcelona and the beautiful walks with my children and my dog, the smell of flowers and children playing in the park. Well I hope that you can understand what I want to express in My Barcelona.

I was Born in Barcelona, then brought up in Buenos Aires where I studied art. At the age of 17, I went back to Barcelona. I have always been interested in different techniques and art-forms, so I enrolled in two art studios to study Chinese lacquer work, polychrome, enamelling and silversmithing. However, my passion has always been painting in different formats. The most enjoyable times of my student life were at Rosa Mirambell Art studio (artist writer, and sculptor), where apart from learning, I had a great time with other great students and Rosa is herself a great artist!! Later I came to the UK with my family and I live by the sea-side where, I find most of my inspiration. I love experimenting with different media, I sell my art all over the world and I hope you enjoy looking at my work.
