About The Artwork

Nature and flowers are my biggest inspiration. This original artwork was inspired by the beautiful garden of my cousins on a summer day. I combined different flowers, tree and plants that he has around his garden to create this painting. It also reflects the mood and happiness I was in when I visited him. This painting was done during a painting demonstration at the fine art gallery The Scene in Alpharetta, GA. It is hand painted with acrylics on a stretched canvas size 16" x 20". The painting is built up on several layers and you can see some details of the under layers peeking through. I like to use various tools when painting: brushes, kitchen towels, palette knife, wedges, tooth picks, pencils, charcoal, stencils, stamps, ... anything I find can make interesting marks. I love to experiment. It has textures created with the palette knife and brush strokes. The painting wraps around the edges. The artwork is signed in the front and back and is protected with a varnish. It comes ready to hand with a wire in the back.

Françoise Lama-Solet is a self taught artist. She was born in Paris and grew up in the suburbs of Paris where she started painting and sewing at a young age. At the time, her media of choice for painting were gouache and pastel. She was inspired by her aunt, Jacqueline Gougis, who was an impressionist artist. When Françoise went to college to pursue her studies, she stopped painting but kept on sewing, creating garments for herself, her family, and her friends. In 2004 she launched her fashion business as a children’s clothing designer. In 2012 she started her women’s wearable art fashion line and is now also designing, hand printing, hand painting and hand dyeing her own textiles. She designs and sews all her garments and scarves. Françoise moved to California with her husband in 2000, where they lived for 11 years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia where she currently resides. While Françoise was striving and growing in her fashion business, she was also missing painting. In December 2018 she grabbed some brushes, acrylic paints and canvas and started painting again. Françoise had her artwork showcased in several local juried exhibitions since 2019 as well as at the 2022 Spring Local Artist Exhibition at P Fine Art Gallery in Suwanee. She sells her artwork online and through art festivals. She received a 1st place Award during the Suwanee Arts Festival in May 2022 and was Featured Artist at the Suwanee Arts Center in September 2022. Francoise is an active member of the North Gwinnett Arts Association and the Alpha Art Guild.
