DONATED According to Judaism, God has no physical representation in this world. "My God" is a spiritual depiction of God as a collection of symbols and words to remind us, that although God may have no face, we see his presence in things around us, experiences that we embrace and the words that we read. The textured painting with the poetry, woven inside the canvas, shows a lit candle with an engraved tree of life and an opened holy book and represents the night time, when we feel the most confused and seek God's guidance beyond all. "Unfinished Morning Prayer" has been donated to an ancient Jewish landmark, Sinagoga Mayor de Barcelona. ORIGINAL POETRY My God is jealous god... He fires bitter arrows When sweetened lasting love torments his aching might. He yearns to be adored, like simple fleshly fellows, And dreads to be alone in shadows of the night. My god is funny god... He, who invented ego In image of his own to conquer selfish traits, Has double-crossed himself and pulled unshackled trigger, So now he repents with rest of human race. My God is giving god... His regal lavish offers Have sprinkled endless joy with pinch of grainy salt To teach us graceful waltz in timid earthly orchards, To prep us for the times of messianic ball. My god is real god... He's neither saint, nor perfect. He wails when babies die or lovers grow astray. He angers ancient skies, preoccupied with trophies, And shatters them with laugh on rainy summer day. My God is only god... Divine authentic soulmate, He asks to be your beau, your father or your friend To hold you in his arms, to let your fears float, to usher you through maze of his majestic land.
