"Mysterious Visitor III" or in Romanian - "Vizitatorul Misterios III" is part of a three-piece triptych, alongside "Mysterious Visitor I & II. Memories and images of the `60s-`70s Romanian childhood, in tight spaces from single or double-room apartments. Few plastic toys painted in light tones...Saints look at you and protect you from cheap frames for 2 lei a picture and 5 lei in total with a frame, so the Christian obligation is ensured. And suddenly *GOANGA appears! Restlessness, mystery... what does it want? Is it dangerous? Does it bite? Can we be friends? The temptation of communication with the unknown world exists. The suspense exists until an answer is received, and remains frozen on the canvas. Let each of the viewers give their opinion! *Goanga - Romanian translation for "the bug" or "the insect";

Lupea Dorin was born in a Sibian Village, but his parents had lived in Victoria, where he spent his childhood and school years. At the age of 57 years he returned to native his lands in search of a simple life, free from stress and more peace. Sumerna was where the artist has installed his new workshop where he can implement his lifelong dreams. He fondly remembers the advice his mother gave him wich followed him everywhere his steps took him. "As a child i carved in wood or picked up twigs with various forms and sat them in every way. I always had discussions with mother trying to explain to me that I'd better think of another college, a job that brings me money. I was a stubborn kid and I wanted to be a great artist even if my mother would not always agree with me, saying it's not a good job" says Dorin Lupea. After graduating from high school, he went to Cluj and enrolled at the Art Academy. In 1980 he graduated Sculpture at Cluj. While still a student he carried out a series of works and organized exhibitions. He then moved to Bucharest where he was recruited by a team of historical monuments restorers. "I worked at Cotroceni Palace, on the restoration of St. George in the center of Bucharest. Then I organized a workshop in the capital, but in time i gave up on it" says the sculptor. ,, I've always wanted the workshop that I have now Sumerna where i work non-stop. Sumerna`s tranquility and scenery has always enchanted me. In my childhood, but also the time when I worked in the furniture factory in Victoria, Sumerna was the place that fascinated me. That is why three years ago i decidet to return to this place" said the artist. "I fell in love with bronze" Dorin Lupea worked mostly in bronze, but not missing any work in wood and marble. He has over 200 works exhibited worldwide. The most imposing bronze works are currently on display at the Art Gallery of Sibiu. Five are works whose dimensions are from 40 cm to 2 meters and are called "Gemini", "Acrobat", "Gesture", "Nude" and "Cadedrală". ,, An artist that respects himself will work in bronze because his work is very well preserved. All important historical monuments are crafted in bronze. I can say that I fell in love with this material. When you work you must have a specific mood, a job can take 3-4 months or years depending on the mood and state of mind" said the sculptor.
