About The Artwork
This decorative painting using paint on canvas is 'called 'Nature: Exterior' it is a collection of Purple and Blues: mostly Powder Blue, Cobalt and Lavender hues, and a little mid Green. It has a light, relaxed feel and is based on Nature. The work is influenced by many Artists, at the time of painting I was particularly struck by a set of paintings by the American Abstract Expressionist Artist Joan Mitchell but I have always been interested in the patterns of trees and bushes. So we may list the bush in my garden that I had recently trimmed as an influence. The cotton canvas is by Winsor & Newton with a description as follows: "Professional frame construction made with warp resistant kiln-dried, bevelled solid pine stretcher bars. Highly pigmented titanium dioxide Gesso primer. Archival. Acid Free."

Self taught he has Painted, Illustrated, worked outside of Art, been to Art Schools ( long ago and far away, -the first one had a large library with a great section on Painting ( and most other things ) where he spent many entranced hours, did much life drawing and (more) Art History. At the second school he studied graphics. After a time as an Illustrator he changed direction. Art History says that some Artists left Financial Services in order to to take up their work as Artists. He follows this trend with a slight twist of his own.. He has painted in many 'styles' over time and sold off and online. Painting was what he loved doing as a child, as a school boy and as an adult. " I still have that 'thing' that makes me want to paint". .......
