About The Artwork

Neural networks are an incredible creation that have always fascinated me. They mimic the way our brain functions and learns. For my latest paintings, I have been inspired by the concept of the interactions in our mind. Our thoughts, emotions, memories, and experiences all come together in a complex network within our brain. This network influences our behavior and shapes our personality. I aim to depict this complexity and interconnectedness in my painting. Using a variety of colors, I create a visual representation of the interactions within the neural network of the brain. I will use abstract forms to symbolize different types of information and colors to depict emotions and moods. The painting will be a fusion of science and art, providing a unique perspective on the inner workings of our mind. Overall, I am excited to bring together my love for art and my fascination with neural networks to create a piece that is both beautiful and meaningful.

"The best art collection is a collection you love" Francisca Meena is a self-taught contemporary artist, based in Copenhagen Denmark, and works in both portraits and cubism.  Her work in cubism is a storytelling of inner landscapes that mirror your true self. Drawing inspiration from geology and neural networks, Francisca Meena creates thought-provoking artworks that challenge the understanding of our innermost layers of emotion and perception of ourselves in response to our surroundings.  In portraits, Francisca Meena walks between portraying the banal and the more mysterious. The work depends on the story.    From the artist "I also work by documenting and my portraits are based on photography. I take photos - a lot, of everything, when I’m out and together with people that matter to me. I’m inspired by the vibe and how it feels to be in this moment with these people. Moments of love and more difficult moments of emotions. I’m fascinated by the simplicity and complexity. How is life supposed to be? How is love supposed to be? How I wish my life could have been different, better, and more fulfilling growing up. I want to capture people dealing with life and everyday normal activities. I’m interested in that moment that shows honesty and authenticity. This documentation leads me to work with portraits in both a spiritual manner and in a more banal way. It could be portraying a scene where you stay up all night talking about everything and nothing. Or it could be a portrait in a liminal sense, where I want to portray people as higher beings". The medium in both cubism and portraits is mostly paper. "I feel that paper is such an intimate medium. Paper is the first thing most people will draw on if not the wall." A collection of art is a mirror of yourself.
