About The Artwork

My current work is based on the uncertainty and development surrounding AGI (artificial general intelligence), and the possibility of ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) following shortly thereafter AGI’s creation, and what that could mean for humanity, Earth, the creatures that inhabit it, and eventually our Solar system and beyond.

Angella is an artist residing and creating in Vancouver, Canada, but grew up in the prairies of Alberta. Currently using mixed media and acrylics to create abstract expressionist paintings that flow from an intuitive place of border-less meditative visions. Angella is motivated by: The idea of freedom from the bondage of constant thought and the western brain. Her paintings are meant to induce bliss and solitude for the eyes and mind; escapism from the constant negativity of the news media that surrounds us. She believes that a beautiful state can be achieved by seeking colorful and peaceful visuals through meditation sessions, and that anyone can access this state through their own creative and beautiful state. Method: Her paintings are created through memory of a recent visualization during meditation, a dream at night remembered, or intuitively on the spot. The only conceptual pre-planning are photos of color palettes taken from nature when she walks to her studio. Palette knives, brushes, sponges, and found objects are all used as creative tools to apply paint and other mediums, and most of her paintings contain an under layer of cloth, comics, netting, and found objects that hint through on the final piece, and add depth and texture to the final painting.
