About The Artwork
If you have been to the New Forest you will know that it is a mixture of quite dense woodland and wide open spaces. This was captured in one of those wide open spaces at sunset where the glow of the setting sun created what looked like white water but was in fact the power of the sun bleaching out the landscape. Painted in pastel on watercolour paper to give me the necessary textures.

My pastels are softer, more impressionistic and very evocative My paintings of the British landscape and European countryside are evocative and personal but nevertheless convey the mood and atmosphere of somewhere we have all been to.
