About The Artwork
This image was inspired by the writing of Pvel Medvešček, who wrote down what is left of our old religion, before christianity, in Slovenia. Nikrmana, The Great Mother, was the ancient force, which took care of everything here on Earth. She was often depicted as a snake eating the moon, or seen in the sky with lightning bolts, in a shape of a horse, a bull, a dragon or a snake. This is how I imagine her, in a human shape, seen in the stormy sky.
