About The Artwork

This 12x12 inch piece of artwork is created using my fluid structure technique to make brightly colored hexagons that I then applied to a white mat and framed in a simple black box frame. I'm always inspired by the flow of colors in fluid art, geometric shapes and the look of fused glass. In this piece, I created 22 fluid hexagon shapes in saturated tropical colors that are placed in a simple pattern. I want the viewer to be drawn to it the way a kid is drawn to colorful candy! I want them to want to reach out and touch it and have a hard time taking their eyes off of it. Most of all, I want it to make them smile and feel joyous. I like working with inks and acrylic fluid mediums because they create such a unique and glass like look. I love how the colors float and suspend in the liquid medium. I see this as a form of a mosaic.

I'm a self taught mixed media artist from the Los Angeles area, where I've spent most of my life. I come from a long line of musicians, artists and engineers providing me with a natural affinity for the arts. I have been creating art all my life, but have been more serious about it and dedicated to it for the past 16 years. During that time I've done lots of experimenting, learning, growing and finding my groove. I also invented a crafting product, loosely based on a technique I've been using in my own art, and currently have a licensing agreement with a major craft supply manufacturer. It's still in development at the moment, but it will hopefully roll out to the Michaels and Hobby Lobbys of the world by late 2021/early 2022. Much of my artistic endeavors over the past 10+ years have been based on demonstrating the functionality of the product. Now that I've got my contract and it's in development, I'm free to simply make art. Any art that speaks to my soul! My ideas usually come from my moods or experiments. I'm very drawn to color, texture, and movement, along with geometric shapes, organic shapes, and patterns. Most of my work falls under the heading of abstract in a style that is contemporary or modern with simple shapes. My favorite materials to work with are acrylic paints, pouring and gel mediums, alcohol inks and palm fronds. I love what I do and find so much peace and joy when I'm creating and I am ready to pursue a full time career as a visual artist. That's where all my focus is now, and I'm ready to share and sell all the work I've been creating.
