No More Drama is painted after a famous photography taken in New York, by a photography student Robert Wiles in 1947, and is referred to as 'The Most Beautiful Suicide'. The young lady on the photo wrote a farewell letter to her fiance, climbed up the Empire State Building, and jumped, landing on the United Nations car parked in the street. She almost looks like she's sleeping, and all the horridity of otherwise such violent act of death is dismissed, even more, the atmosphere seems calming to the extent of almost feeling the lady's liberation of all the earthly horrors, resting gently in the metal sheet's embrace. Many artists created works after the famous photo, among them Andy Warhol, and though used many times, I'm still enchanted by all the factors that joined in one magic moment to create this photography, as well as with the image itself. This is not the place to get into serious analyzing of rough reality that takes someone to make such step into the void, though I often remember how Friedrich Nietzsche yearned for suicide in his tormented hours, claiming that it is the final way one achieves peace, explaining this act without prejudice, perhaps even with a touch of anticipation. Let's rather enjoy the contrast games, that are played so richly in the image's composition, enhanced in this 'technicilor' version with the blue hues contrasted by the red central figure in the painting. To me, this picture would be a perfect choice to put in a bedroom, and let oneself be immersed into its atmosphere after a long day of work, or just to quiet ones mind by looking at it daily.
