About The Artwork
'Nymph' was inspired by Wang Ximeng's unique style, incorporating his bright colour palate into the scene. These particular colours associate with loneliness; a fascinating feeling that I wanted to explore. Loneliness is often something we want to avoid, but there is so much beauty that can be found inside solitude. Through a blend of colours and dense brushstrokes, 'Nymph' attempts to portray the allure of being alone. I hope its viewers will think about their own experience with feeling loneliness, and consider the benefits they have received from it, whether this be drive, creativity, or appreciation of self.

21 year old artist based in Alkmaar, Netherlands. I paint mainly using acrylic or oil on canvas. I believe that the only true, ultimate reality that we are able to experience is that of the internal mind; any artwork that we come across is a reflection of the intimate inner-workings of a person's mentality. For me, creating is the most effective way to mentally shed. It is incredible that what can feel like undecipherable, chaotic thoughts can unwind, travel and flow through the body and transform into a tangible, visible 'thing' that fits within the limitations of a canvas.
