My artistic goal is to create an abstract visual narrative utilizing the alchemic properties of acrylic paint, sumi inks, Nihonga pigments, gold leaf, and other metallics. Texture is strongly observed in my work. Developmentally, a narrative includes a beginning (incubation of an idea), a middle (body of work), and an endpoint (completion of art product). Facing a blank canvas can be daunting, but so exciting. My ideas come from many areas including everyday surroundings, nature, and travel experiences. My recent visit to Italy provided many new ideas for future artistic projects.
